Personality: Mitsuko is strong, athletic, very competitive by nature, and very good at both sports and her studies. She is an extremely hard worker and is always driven to do her best regardless of the endeavor, and has a strong sense of justice, though she also has a tendency to forget her own well-being in the process of helping others. Mitsuko has a tsundere personality, as she tries to hide her feelings by physical actions like hitting or punching someone. She can be very strict when it comes to her work and is very no nonsense when it comes to the music business. She has a hard time being honest about her feelings towards other people, which is evident because she blushes a lot and gets embarrassed easily. She does her best to study hard and be the best she can be at the school but this keeps her from going out and meeting new people. She also likes to be by herself since she used to spend so much time by herself before meeting Yuuki. She cares deeply about the people close to her and will do anything to protect them, even put herself in harm’s way. Because of this, she thinks more with her emotions in such situations than with her brain and acts rather recklessly in a fight.



History: Mitsuko had grown up as an only child in a small town in the country. The town was known for its yearly snowfall. Nine months out of the year, it snowed constantly with no rest. It seems great at first to anyone just passing through, but not to the town’s residents. The snow was tedious to clean up and it was always hard to see because everything always looked blank white and crisp in the horizon. Of course, kids would always be playing outside on nice days, building snow forts and making snow angels.

Mistuko was always among these types of kids, growing up in a nice family setting. She lived with her mother, father, and her grandfather. She was closest to her grandfather, a retired musician. He taught her how to read music and coached her in a bit of singing as well. She loved to play different songs with her grandfather on stormy days and laugh and talk about what real concerts were like.

Unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end. Tragedy struck the Katsaragi family when her grandfather passed away in his sleep one night when Mitsuko was around the age of 12. From then on, Mitsuko was always extremely depressed and wouldn’t play outside anymore. Her life felt like it was quickly falling apart and nothing could repair it. She stopped reading music, singing, and basically sat in her room and stared out the window, watching the endless white horizon day in and day out.
That all changed, however, when a new family moved in across the street from Mistuko. Her family went over to their house to introduce themselves and welcome them to the neighborhood. The family was made up of a single mother and her daughter, Yuuki. Yuuki was a sickly girl around Mitsuko’s age and because she was always stuck inside her house, she was a talented pianist. Both their mom’s became friends so Mitsuko was constantly taken to Yuuki’s house. Soon the y slowly started to form a close friendship over the course of a year.

By the time they were 14, they were inseparable. They would always have to play indoors, but Yuuki’s love of music managed to drive Mitsuko out of her deep depression. She soon gained a new sense of purpose, always introducing new kinds of music to Yuuki and learning new songs with her. Sometimes, they would even compose songs together and stuff them into a little cardboard box they dubbed “Our Music Box”.

Everything changed one day though, when Yuuki’s condition suddenly worsened and she was permanently bed ridden. To this day, Yuuki is slowly dying and unable to play piano anymore. One day, when Mitsuko came to visit, Yuuki told her that her ultimate dream was to hear one of her songs being played in a concert one day.
From then on, Mitsuko knew what her new purpose was in the world. She gained a new drive to become a professional composer so that one day, she could professionally compose one of Yuuki’s songs and play it for her. She found out about Saotome High School, a private school for future musicians and composers who want to make it big. She was able to take the entrance exam and passed with her knowledge of music. She hopes to one day become one of the best composers in all of Japan.

Additional Info: She owns a big stuffed animal of a puppy-cat that was given to her by Yuuki for her birthday. She goes back to her home town during breaks for a couple of days to check up on Yuuki and her own family. She always finds it embarrassing when people can find out that she can sing but she sometimes sings quietly when she is alone. She has an extreme fear of ghost stories and believes them to be real.
